TATTINGSTONE (Suffolk) - Tattingstone Wonder

Information

Originally two cottages. In 1790 Edward White, the local Squire, did not like the look of the cottages from Tattingstone Place. He added a third cottage and finished them to look light a church by adding a fake tower and flint façade. The tower only has three walls and is open at the back. It has also been claimed that Squire White said People often wondered at nothing so he would give them something to wonder about. It is now a single house, enclosed by trees, with very restricted views of the rear.
